Dsquared2

So! What does a girl wear when she’s being admitted into an insane asylum? Dsquared2 of course! That is, if she wants to be the hottest chick in the psych ward, apparently! The collection was shown with a “Girl, Interrupted” theme complete with immaculately dressed attendants to make sure the mad mavens behaved even though a few patients did go off of the deep end – they “escaped” by walking off of the runway. The line was mostly 60’s chic, with uber short skirts; delightfully luxurious textiles; and that funky Dsquared2 style that I have come to adore. The pieces were fun, girly, and edgy all at once. The show can be seen on the Dsquared2 website and the photos can be seen on style.com.

Dsquared Fall 2013 RTW

I just had to go back and see what my favorite designers showed for Fashion Week and I pulled up Dsquared first because I was (and still am...) crazy about their Spring show where they expertly channeled and updated classic '50s fashion.

For fall, they went all biker chick/classic Chanel/'80s rapper.  It was very funky and quirky.  Even though I thought the whole "panties as shorts" look was a bit too much, I did find some things I really liked and would not mind translating to street style and rocking!

Dsquared - Milan

Well!  So much for "Wordless Wednesday"!  Most of my favorite fabulous designers are Italian so I have lots of things to say this week - and I'm behind!

While most other designers are showing dark designs for Fall RTW - Dsquared went bright and fun with a line of clothes that the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies would have worn if they had been wealthy! (Those are the kids from Grease in case you didn't know!) There was big, bouffant hair, rolled up jeans, leather jackets, and even ciggys! (Who was a teenager when we didn't know smoking could kill you and learned how to "French inhale"?)  Twins, Dan and Dean Caten, even had super cute matching outfits that went with the theme.  Grease is one of my favorite musicals so I absolutely loved this collection!  There was even a "prom" motif.  Please excuse me if I get carried away adding pics from style.com!

love&light...

How cute are they?

I would rock this tomorrow!

OK - I quit.  I think it's safe to say this was my favorite RTW show so far!  I'm still exploring, though...
