Dsquared Fall 2013 RTW

I just had to go back and see what my favorite designers showed for Fashion Week and I pulled up Dsquared first because I was (and still am...) crazy about their Spring show where they expertly channeled and updated classic '50s fashion.

For fall, they went all biker chick/classic Chanel/'80s rapper.  It was very funky and quirky.  Even though I thought the whole "panties as shorts" look was a bit too much, I did find some things I really liked and would not mind translating to street style and rocking!

It's FASHION WEEK!!!

I am way behind because I've been experimenting with some new, exciting ventures. Oh, how I've missed working on my blog, though!

I really like how Alice+Olivia release cool photo shoots in lieu of a show.  It's different and fresh.  Below are my favorite looks from the presentation. They had a 60's vibe going that I'm really feeling right now.  That was a time when everybody dressed up all the time and looked so nice.  That era and those fashions were also captured well in the remake of "Sparkle" - maybe that needs to be another post now that I think I'm done crying over Whitney...

I really appreciate how style.com keeps us that cannot make it to NYC in the loop!

Today is the birthday of photography icon Patrick Demarchelier.  Monsieur  Demarchelier is the most influential fashion photographer on the scene today, so what better day to look through some of his recent amazing work!

Controversial Olympic Gear

Nike was the official outfitter for this year's Olympic games in London and they have come under fire for one of their ladies' shirts.  Some have voiced that the shirts - that say "Gold Digging" -  are sexist and offensive.  I have read some comments on other sites suggesting more positively charged references to competing for gold medals but I don't know...

Could it be that we are taking ourselves a bit too seriously by being offended by a cheeky phrase on a t-shirt?  I would love to hear the thoughts of my fab fashionistas!

My First Photo Shoot!

My hubby is a freelance photographer and I finally got to get my own photo shoot!  Here are a couple of pics below.  I have to do that again soon - I like being a model!
