Artist Shinichi Maruyama

Happy day to you!

So! I got an item from my wysh lyst!  Alas, it was not a Louboutin tree!  It was the iPad mini so I guess this means I have had Apple Comptuer's Kool-aid. I'm just sipping, though!

While browsing through the Flipboard app for tablets (which is a great way to keep up with web stuff on a tablet, by the way), I stumbled upon an incredibly gifted artist. Shinichi Maruyama is a modest Japanese born artist that creates elegant pieces of photography art.  His biography only lists his year and place of birth; the year and school where he graduated, and the year he moved to New York - no fuss or embellishments.

The photo above is part of Maruyama's Garden collection.  The website, Colossal, is where I was introduced to this gifted artist.  They did a spotlight piece on Shinichi Maruyama highlighting time lapse images of a nude dancer that he created using 10,000 photographs.  The result is nothing short of amazing.  Please see some of them below.

Santa, Baby! Christmas Wysh Lyst

So, I am at a point in my life where I honestly can't think of anything to ask for as a Christmas gift!  Could it be that I may actually be growing up?  I certainly hope not! Please, God, let this pass!

I have, however, seen some really pretty things out there in the social media universe.  From savvy marketers posting gift ideas on facebook, twiiter, pinterest,  instagram, and everywhere else they can think to posts to my fabulous friends finding the most delightfully and ridiculously indulgent Christmas pictures, I have compiled a small wysh lyst that would make for lovely surprises on Christmas morning!

Tiffany & Co goes pink!  While I obviously adore the little blue box - this line of pink pieces.  The official name of the metal is RUBEDO and it's a line of metal Tiffany has launched to celebrate 175 years.

So - I haven't had a sip of the Apple kool-aid and have not felt like my world would end if I did not own an iPad.  However, with the dawn of the new mini, the tech savvy girl in me is ready to jump on the bandwagon and join the cult - I mean club!

One of my oldest and dearest friends posted this on facebook and of course she tagged me and I was immediately looking for the nonexistent "love" button!  I have no idea where she found this picture, but Santa, baby please skip the sable and just bring me this tree!

Target + Neiman Marcus Christmas Collaboration

Two of my favorite store have come together to provide Christmas gift offerings this year.  Designer participants include Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, and Alice + Olivia and there are gifts to fit just about every personality on your gift  lyst.  Here are my personal picks...

For the fashion forward yogi? DVF yoga mat!

Is there a smooth James Bond type that likes his (or her) martinis shaken, not stirred on your lyst? How about an Altuzarra cocktail shaker.

For the Uptown girl (or guy) to bounce around town fashionably, a Marc Jacobs scarf!

For the pretty girl who likes bling, how about a Judisth Leiber Compact!

Here's a cute Proenza Schouler iPad sleeve for the tech savvy person on your lyst.

Elect to be Fashionable!

"I don't believe in the Republican Party or the Democratic Party.  I just believe in PARTIES!"
~Samantha Jones, Sex and the City~

I am very, very anti-political.  Yes, I do my duty as a citizen and vote but all of the political hoopla is just not for me. So, my contribution to Election Day will be a fabulous "Wysh Lyst' outfit idea I would wear to an election watch party!

My window shopping today was from Saks - my favorite place!

Fall Wysh Lyst: Handbags

My favorite accessory has always been a great handbag and I have been coveting the Gucci soft stirrup for quite some time...

Red Python - platinum standard...

This bad bag has been around for quite a while and Gucci brought it back this year to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the House of Gucci.  It still takes my breath away...

Chanel Spring 2013 RTW

Who doesn't love Chanel?  I loved the show - all 80, yes EIGHTY looks!  Cute variations on the little black dress made famous by Madame Coco herself and there was, of course, a beautiful sampling of boucle pieces as well.

However, the models looks a bit awkward to me.  The pieces were beautiful but some of the clothes were wearing them instead of the other way (like it's supposed to be).  I think it was the shoes making their legs look odd.

At any rate - don't miss the huge hoola hoop bag.  I thought that was a really fun look!

Carolina Herrera

Pretty, girly dresses were the theme of this show - right up my ally! The base color on each piece was an ethereal milky white with pops of red and orange here and there. Then there was the occasional classic black thrown in the mix to shake things up further.

My favorite looks are below...
