Dsquared - Milan

Well!  So much for "Wordless Wednesday"!  Most of my favorite fabulous designers are Italian so I have lots of things to say this week - and I'm behind!

While most other designers are showing dark designs for Fall RTW - Dsquared went bright and fun with a line of clothes that the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies would have worn if they had been wealthy! (Those are the kids from Grease in case you didn't know!) There was big, bouffant hair, rolled up jeans, leather jackets, and even ciggys! (Who was a teenager when we didn't know smoking could kill you and learned how to "French inhale"?)  Twins, Dan and Dean Caten, even had super cute matching outfits that went with the theme.  Grease is one of my favorite musicals so I absolutely loved this collection!  There was even a "prom" motif.  Please excuse me if I get carried away adding pics from style.com!

How cute are they?

I would rock this tomorrow!

OK - I quit.  I think it's safe to say this was my favorite RTW show so far!  I'm still exploring, though...

Bottega Veneta in Milan

The Bottega Veneta collection was razor sharp - pretty severe.  It was full of power suits and nice, clean lines.  The makeup - more specifically the lipstick was too dark and in my opinion stole focus from the collection. It wasn't so bad with the darker pieces, but it was really an unfavorable contrast with the creams and pinks.  Some of the looks I liked are below...

Milan Fashion Week: Bally

Bally had a quaint collection of 18 looks done in mostly brown and black with a bold red ensemble as the end piece.  There was also a recurring edgy asymmetrical hemline that was pretty interesting.

Topshop Unique

The first time I ever heard about Topshop it was in a facebook game that their cyber store was sponsoring!  I wasn't too crazy about their collection overall but I think it's uber cool that that the company has accomplished so much so seemingly quick!  My favorites are below!

Burberry Prorsum

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!  The fashionistas are real jet setters! I have let London Fashion Week just slip right by me and they are already in Milan so I have some catching up to do!  First, I'm checking out the king of awesome rain slickers and wellies: Burberry!  Their higher end line, Burberry Prorsum, had a beautiful collection that paired shades of grey (and sometimes beige) with some beautiful collegiate shades - hunter greens, burgundies, mustard yellows, etc...  I like to call them "Ive League" colors.  Very Joe College!  My favorite looks are below!

Oscars 2012

If there was a trend, I would say the magic color was white/cream.  My 3 favorite looks are below!  Is it weird that Robin Roberts rocked my favorite look?  Who said I have to pick a movie star?  I really need a full body shot of her dress! She was so elegant. Cameron Diaz was in Gucci and Emma Stone was in Louis Vuitton.

Diane von Furstenberg

It has been a crazy couple of weeks for me!  I've been taking on some new experiences and it's been very busy but crazy fun!  I can't believe I let a NY Fashion Week go by and forgot to check out the collection by Diane von Furstenberg!  She is one of my favorites so I have to ooh and ahh about her RTW collection before I start checking out what I've been missing in London and before I glue myself to the Red Carpet tomorrow night!

There did not seem to be a theme - just beautiful clothes.  She did some very nice things with bright, feminine colors as well as some sultry black pieces.  My favorite  looks from her show are below (well, some of them...)

Elie Tahari

Elie Tahari (updating my thoughts later...)

Bill Blass

I didn't know Bill Blass was still on the runway fashions scene what a blast from the past for me.  the collection was boardroom chic reminiscent of the era in which the show Madmen is shot but still had a modern edge.  It was shown on a wood paneled and carpeted runway giving a old school office vibe.

Alice & Olivia

Alice & Olivia presented a photo montage in lieu of a runway show which is an idea I like.  They did, however, have a model with a platinum blond wig that kind of took away from the garments they presented except for a couple where she was wearing a white/silver ensemble that blended with the hair.  There were two different models so the looks that caught my eye were of course on the one that did not have the loud hair.  See my faves below!
